As of 2014, 1.4 million New Yorkers rely on food pantries and soup kitchens. The lines are long and the people are hungry. Simultaneously, our city throws away 1 million tons of food each year. That disparity makes no sense.

This campaign is calling for the full funding of food rescue programs like City Harvest. We can use funding from the sanitation budget, and spend our taxes bringing food to food banks, not landfills.
